MSM at the Folk Alliance Conference & Music Fair

Folk alliance music fair 2015Mass Street Music is excited to be a part of this year’s Folk Alliance Conference & dynamic new Music Fair in Kansas City, Missouri, February 18-22! Held at the Sheraton and Westin at Crown Center, the conference is a remarkable folk-infused (and all its international, Americana, old time, blues etc variations!) gathering, akin to SXSW – a music conference that brings musicians, industry folks, agents and music fans from around the world together in one spot. This year, FAI has expanded to include the new public Music Fair, making the experience affordable for many more – and it’s going to be outstanding!

In addition to public concerts (six stages, including a Lawrence one on Friday), open jams, a bluegrass version of the Who’s Tommy and more, the Music Camp is also now on the public side. If you’ve ever dreamed of learning from Bela Fleck, Andy McKee, Bill Kirchen or other legends, you can! Our Lawrence buddies at Americana Music Academy are also running a great Kid’s Camp which will include instruction from guest artists. There’s also a music related Film Festival, an Art Gallery, music contests and jam sessions led by special guests. In addition, there’s a public Expo Hall at the Sheraton (tickets are only $5 for the public) where you’ll find Mass Street Music. Similar to Winfield, our staff will be there with an array of great instruments and accessories plus info about our store and upcoming events. But save time for the evening too, as we have a very special event planned for Friday night, Feb. 20 at the Music Fair.
