We’re very excited to have the great David Grier at Mass Street Music on Saturday, October 12 to teach an Intermediate/Advanced Guitar Workshop at 1:00 pm! This workshop is the perfect place to hone your chops with the assistance of one of the world’s great musicians. David Grier, considered by bluegrass aficionados to be one of the best flatpickers alive, asks workshop attendees to bring along their guitars and their questions – all will be answered. Picking, chords, and other bluegrass guitar techniques will be covered in this hands-on workshop directed by the participants’ questions. Attendees are requested to bring along audio recording devices; however no video, please.

David will also be performing that evening at 7:30p.m. at Lawrence’s Unity Church as part of Westside Folk’s great concert series. Tickets for the concert are available at Mass Street Music and through Westside Folk or at Mass Street Music. Tickets are $20.

More on David Grier: Born in Washington, D.C. in 1961, a family move to Nashville at age 3 fully immersed David Grier into the bluegrass music world, and at age 6, he began playing the guitar. Today, he is regarded as one of the premier acoustic guitarists in the world, along with his early influences, Doc Watson, Tony Rice, and family friend Clarence White. Recognized by Acoustic Guitar Magazine in 2000 as one of the Artists of the Decade, and named Guitar Player of the Year three times by the International Bluegrass Music Association, David has played on four Grammy Award-winning albums.
