Voted best acoustic guitar of the year for 2014 (Music Inc.), this Taylor 814ce acoustic guitar, newly redesigned, delivers a bigger and richer sound than ever before, along with Taylor's unmatched playability. Taylor wunderkind, Andy Powers, gave this improved bracing, a thinner gloss finish by half (now 3.5 mil) and it's built with hide and fish glue, used by old school luthiers and small modern builders like Blazers & Henkes. Hide glue gives your guitar more stability as it can withstand higher temperatures than wood glue, plus it gives the guitar just that much more overall response as it dries much stiffer than wood glue. All these improvements make for a versatile, big-sounding acoustic guitar that players of any genre will just not want to put down.

What has not changed is the playability - the comfortable Taylor neck has a satin back here with a 1 3/4" nutwidth. The Sitka Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back and sides are set off beautifully with Maple binding,  the new Element fretboard inlay and killer Rosewood pickguard. The guitar is totally ready to play out when you are, with Taylor's own easy to use ES2 Expression System electronics with subtle onboard controls. This Taylor 814ce guitar comes with a deluxe hard case and full set up to your specs from our luthiers too.
