Bad Cat Amps - 2005 Hot Cat 30R
SOLD. Call us for options.
This used Bad Cat Hot Cat 30R Combo Amp is a heavy-duty rocker with one of the cleanest clean channels on the market plus it can produce a genuinely nasty overdrive. Loaded with a single 12" Bad Cat Proprietary Celestion speaker, capable of 30 watts of power via 4, 8, or 16 ohms, it's an absolute beast in the volume department. It can stand its own against bigger cabinets in bigger venues with ease while still sounding absolutely incredible. Powered by two EL34 power amp tubes, seven 12AX7 preamp tubes, and one GZ34/SS rectifier, you get big tone out of this truly versatile amp.
Similar to Vox combos, the Hot Cat 30R has a great British rock vibe, and so much more. The clean channel has tons of headroom, and a great mid-level breakup. Switch to Channel 2 for some ridiculously high gain overdrive that doesn't get too muddy at louder volumes. It has independent Volume and Tone controls for Channel 1, and Gain and Edge controls for Channel 2. In addition, it has shared Level, Bass, and Treble controls, as well as Reverb (Channel 1), and a Brilliance control for both channels. And, finally, the Master Volume. On its backplate are Power, Standby, and Solid State/Tube Rectifier switches, and inputs for Send Return, Aux Return, the Reverb Footswitch, and external Speakers, as well as the 4/8/16-ohm selector.
Here in Excellent condition, the dark green tolex has some wear from general use and gigging, but it looks great overall, especially with its cream-colored tolex front, and this amp sounds as good as it did in 2005. The Bad Cat Hot Cat 30R Combo Amp is a real monster, and its high-quality construction ensures it will last a long, long time. Local pickup only.
