We're really excited to offer this spectacular Mike Black A2 Mandolin wi/Virzi - Black is a local Kansas luthier and we've been admiring his mandos for a long time and finally convinced him to put one in the store. His build is informed by old school traditions and it shows in the remarkable tone of his instruments. And just look at this mando - it's a beautiful oval hole with traditional binding, burst varnish finish and a Virzi (traditional piece of wood inside that adds a mellow tonality to the mando) installed. The tone of this is warm and mellow but with a surprising amount of projection on the high end with nice clarity.

The top is Englemann Spruce, paired with eye-catching Maple back and sides and a James tailpiece, engraved 'Black'. Ivoroid binding graces the top and the Ebony radiused fingerboard, and the Gotoh tuners feature ivoroid buttons - top notch and made right here in Kansas. This Mike Black A2 Mandolin comes with a hard case and full set up to your specs.
