Epiphone Acoustic Guitars - 1933 Olympic Archtop Used

SOLD - Contact us for more options

This Epiphone Olympic Archtop is a small wonder of a guitar - the very model made famous by Dave Rawlings on his recordings with Gillian Welch. It has an incredibly focused mid-range that excels at lead lines and fingerpicking, in particular, but is fantastic at just about everything. Built with a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, its classic tonewood combination that really shines on this particular model.

Here in Excellent condition, it is entirely crack-free and has its original finish, as well as the original tuners, tailpiece, pickguard (included in case), bone nut, and fiber case. It has a one-piece Mahogany neck with a nice C-shaped profile, and a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard and bridge. The bridge has been compensated for improved intonation and it's had a recent refret which makes for great playability.

Built in 1933, this isn't just any archtop - it's a phenomenal player that has plenty of life left in it, even after 80 years! It has a 25 1/2" scale length and a 1 11/16" nut width, and some nice appointments including black binding, a tortoise-style headstock overlay, and Ivoroid tuning pegs. This Epiphone Olympic Archtop is an outstanding guitar that deserves to be played - so check it out while you still can. Includes its original chipboard case.
