This used Fralin Blues Special with SP43 Bridge Strat Set is in Excellent condition, and a great deal. With white covers and plenty of lead wire, this pickup configuration is very popular. The Blues Specials in the neck and middle positions have 5% more turns than Vintage Hots, giving a darker, thicker tone, while still being versatile and lending enough vigor to solo. The SP43 makes for a hotter bridge position, but with a bit less highs and more mids. Using 43 gauge wire wound on adjustable pole pieces, the SP43 has 25% more output compared to a normal Strat bridge pickup, sounding similar to a P90. This Fralin P90 Dogear -15% Underwound Pickup is Lindy's own take on Gibson's classic single coil for the neck position. Just like Gibson's P90, these have a big mid-range when used clean, and a chainsaw grind when pushed hard. Lindy's P90s are a very versatile pickup though, having a fuller wider range compared to many other replacement P90s. With the volume rolled down, Strat like single coil output is easily achieved, and with the volume turned up, the pickup is a focused overdriven joy to be heard. These have a little more upper mid boost than a traditional one too. For a more classic vintage P90 sound, be sure to check out the Grosh P90s. Lindy himself uses this -15% underwound one for his ES125 in the neck position. The underwinding means this has 15% less windings than a stock P90. Great for the neck position on a guitar.
