Moog at Mass Street Music
One of the great things about working at Mass Street Music is that rather than trying to carry every musical product under the sun, we get to sell brands and products that we really believe in. I'm so jazzed to announce that we're now an official Moog dealer. Ever since I was a kid, listening to my mom's Emerson, Lake, and Palmer records, I've wanted to own a Moog synth. As I got older and learned more about the history of synthesizers, I've gained a huge respect for the company and the absolute uncompromising quality of their products like this Sub Phatty Synth. Nothing else sounds like a Moog, plain and simple. (Check out Eric M. & Ted goofing with the Sub Phatty here)
As a keyboardist, I have to admit that I'm most excited about the cool synths that we get to carry, but I was pleased to see that the quality I associate with their keyboards has carried over to their Moog guitar effects as well. These pedals are built like tanks, and across the board have a rich, deep sound quality that just screams "Moog" (which is a kinda weird name to scream, but whatever, I love them.)
While I've been geeking out on the synths, Eric P. has been taken by the great pedals, the Drive and Delay in particular. "The whole Minifooger and Moogerfooger lines are really well built and look great. The Moog MF Drive pedal sounds really unique and the filter knob is great to dial in specific frequencies. You can hook up an expression pedal that controls the filter function and get some really different sounds too."
The Moog MF Delay pedal has the warm repeats you would expect from an analog delay and its drive knob is cool as well - you can use it to get a bit of a boost when you activate your delay. Really cool to have Moog added to our effects pedal options."
Moog, decades ago, cemented its reputation for knowing tone and being a Pandora's playbox for pedalheads and gear nuts (and we have more than a few of those on staff!). From the essential Moogerfooger and more compact Minifooger Moog pedals to the iconic synths, we're proud to carry these at Mass Street Music and invite you to come try them out. - Ted K.
