The Kala EM FS Exotic Mahogany U-Bass has a real, big bass sound, only in a compact, uke-sized instrument that's incredibly fun to play. The sound will seriously surprise you. Its body is made from Exotic Mahogany for a distinct tone that's remarkably similar to an upright bass, despite being small enough to fit in an airplane's overhead compartment. The 21" scale length is particularly comfortable for guitarists not accustomed to a full-sized bass, and its extra thick, proprietary polyurethane strings tune up like a regular bass (E-A-D-G), so there's no learning curve for someone with any guitar/bass experience.

Plugged in is where the U-Bass really shines. It'll knock your socks off. Featuring an onboard Kala piezo pickup and EQ system, it can achieve thick, rich, and warm bass tones with enough volume to fill any room as easily as just plugging it in and playing. With an almost stand-up bass tone to it, you can throw down some rock or whatever else you need.
