This used, 1986 Gibson Nouveau NV6 acoustic guitar is a square-shouldered dread-style body with a big sound that is decidedly Gibson. The Nouveau was produced briefly between 1986 and '87 under the Gibson name before moving strictly to the Epiphone line. The bodies and necks were shaped in Japan and then assembled at Gibson's Nashville factory. This is nice priced cannon with a Spruce laminate top and Mahogany laminate back and sides, and an elegant three-ring rosette, white body binding, and a teardrop-shaped tortoiseshell pickguard. The neck is Mahogany, with an Ebony fingerboard and pearloid geometric-shaped inlays.

This NV6 has a full 25.5" scale, and a comfortable 1.68" nut width, perfect for most players. A great guitar for both flatpickers and strummers, it excels at up-tempo bluegrass but is just as good as softer, slower folk tunes. Nice mids, crisp highs, and booming lows - it has many of the features of a higher end Gibson. Here in Excellent condition, this Gibson Nouveau NV6 has very little playwear (most noticeable is a small ding on the top of the upper bout) and sounds super sweet. Includes a non-original chip case with a plush interior.
