This Hill Country OM1A, here in a striking new burst satin finish from Collings, is warm, punchy and dynamic sounding OM that takes so much from the vintage guitars that we love, and combines it with the Collings build quality and playability.
The Hill Country line delivers a new vintage-voiced build, with the same quality and attention to detail that has always been synonymous with Collings, but in warmer, dry, low-end and mid-focused guitar. Here with an Adirondack spruce top, paired with Honduran mahogany, this OM features hand-poured tortoise appointments, new bracing and top/back voicings, and a stamped Collings logo on the back of the headstock.
Extremely well balanced and responsive, every note across the fingerboard is present, while providing a big sounding fundamental that decays beautifully, without upper frequency harmonics, more of the dry, vintage tone that we love about the mid to late 1930s guitars. For players looking for the familiar Collings neck profile, this Hill Country features the smaller, Vintage Now-style profile, that feels extremely comfortable up and down the neck.
The control, and power that comes from this line of Collings guitars rivals any sort of vintage-inspired build out there, and we're so very excited to get to spend time getting to know these guitars before we usher them along to their new home. Includes a free Mass Street setup from our crew of luthiers along with the original hardshell case.
