Orpheum 1920 No.1 Tenor Banjo

Orpheum Banjos - 1920 No.1 Tenor Banjo

This vintage 1920 Orpheum No.1 Tenor Banjo is small but mighty. Though it is nearing its hundredth birthday, it is in Excellent condition and plays very well. It has a woody, rich tone, with just the right amount of plunk and twang, and a cool, almost resonator-esque sound especially as you move up the neck on the higher strings. Here with fantastic vintage inlay work on the fretboard and headstock, it looks great too. This 1920 Orpheum No.1 Tenor Banjo is a good value. Case not included. USED

Orpheum 1919 No.1 Tenor Banjo

Orpheum Banjos - 1919 No.1 Tenor Banjo

This vintage 1919 Orpheum No.1 Tenor Banjo is in Excellent condition, especially considering its age. All original here except for a recent refret (which makes it a great player) and a new but retro-looking head. It's strung with celtic tenor strings, and tuned like an octave mandolin. Not only does this tenor sound great, but it looks fantastic - cool vintage headstock and fretboard inlay, and a thin metal armrest. This 1919 Orpheum No.1 Tenor Banjo comes with its worn but functional original case. $700. Consignment item. Sorry, shipping not included. USED

Martin 1926 00-28

Martin Acoustic Guitars - 1926 00-28

This 1926 Martin 00-28 is amazing. In Very Good condition, especially considering it is nearly 100 years old, it has no top or back cracks. It has had one professionally repaired and cleated side crack, as well as a neck reset, a fresh refret (the playability is excellent here), and new pyramid bridge, all done by the highly respected luthier T.J. Thompson. It has also had a minor French polish touch up on the bare wood pick area of the top. It has a stunning sound and incredible resonance. Original tuners. A vintage beauty, this 1926 Martin 00-28 comes with a newer hard case.

Gibson 1982 Les Paul Standard

Gibson Solid-Body Electrics - 1982 Les Paul Standard

This is a sweet 1982 Les Paul Standard in Very Good condition. The pots, neck pickup, switch and frets are all original here. The bridge pickup has been replaced with a Duncan. The cover for the neck pickup is gone. There is some play wear - scratches, dings etc (see photos), but this thing is a solid sonic beast through and through. Sounds amazing, with that great LP sustain (and heft), and comes with the original hard case too. Serial# 80772546. USED

Fender® 1964 Mustang

Fender® Solid-Body Electrics - 1964 Mustang

This vintage 1964 Fender Mustang was built the first year this guitar was ever produced. This one is all original, and in Very Good condition - it has plenty of nicks and chips as you'd expect from something 49 years old, but it is still a vibrant cherry red, and plays beautifully. This has a 24" scale, with 22 frets and a smaller 1 1/2" nutwidth. No touch ups, the original frets and all the mojo you'd expect from a Mustang.

Originally favored by surf instrumentalists in the 60s, the Mustang found new life in later decades when punk and grunge musicians took a shine to used models for their (at the time) inexpensive price tags, unique trem system, and thinner necks. Players included David Byrne, Patti Smith, Kurt Cobain, Graham Coxon, Adrian Belew, PJ Harvey, Thurston Moore, Todd Rundgren...well it's an endless list really.

This particular 1964 Fender Mustang comes with the original black and silver hard case too. Great guitar. s/n: L63802.

Fender® 1978 Ash Stratocaster

Fender® Solid-Body Electrics - 1978 Ash Stratocaster

This is a killer 1978 Fender Ash Stratocaster in Very Good Plus condition. This strat is a 9 pound, 3 ounce sonic beauty, all original, loaded with 3 single coil pickups, 5-way switching, Volume and two Tone controls. We're not certain, but it sure looks like Swamp Ash to us and it sounds fantastic. Whatever type of music you play, you can't go wrong with this classic. This has a few small dings (see photo), and a little finish checking, to be expected in something 35 years old, but structurally it's 100%, with great frets, a wonderful feeling neck and a really nice heft that just feels great. Nice sustain too. This 1978 Fender Ash Stratocaster comes with the original black hard case with orange interior as well. Serial# S898932.

Fender® 1955 Esquire

Fender® Electric Guitars - 1955 Esquire

This vintage 1955 Fender Esquire is a super nice, clean, all-original example in Excellent condition. The neck is dated 7-55. The original finish is bright and clean and has very minor nicks, scratches and play wear. The Esquire model, a progenitor of the tele, was one of the first guitars made by Fender, back in 1950, and was favored by Johnny Cash band mate Luther Perkins whose classic Boom Chicka Boom sound is instantly recognizable. Later Springsteen, Syd Barrett and even Paul McCartney discovered the Esquire, sometimes modding it with an extra pickup. This particular '55 is original all the way through, plays great and has that unmistakably great sound. The original tweed case is nice inside with medium wear on the outside. Serial #7980.
