This new Collings CJ35 G German Spruce, serial# 22094, delivers amazing tone in a guitar that has no peer. The top is German Spruce with a natural finish, paired with Mahogany back and sides. The design for the CJ35 started as a collaboration between our owner, Jim Baggett, and Bill Collings. Based on some of Jim's vintage Gibson J-35s, the CJ35 features stiffer Adirondack straight (non scalloped) three tone bar bracing and an abbreviated tongue brace, combined with the Mahogany back and sides gives this incredible resonance. You get a beautiful balance of deep bass and full-bodied highs, with a focused dynamic range for real clarity. It all goes towards making this CJ35 a very versatile instrument, suited to fingerstyle, strumming, and flat picking.
