This used Waterloo WL-14 X TR, serial# 690, feels a lot like an old Kalamazoo or Gibson that's been tucked away for decades - only a helluva lot better, thanks to Bill Collings' impeccable build technique and high-quality materials. It's a pared down 1930s- and '40s-inspired 00-sized guitar with classic, old-time tone. This X-braced version has a nice low-end with a really sweet top-end sparkle and a little less pronounced mid-range than the Ladder-braced version - so you get a slightly more open, refined tone. You've got a Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides here with a Ivoroid pickguard that beautifully complements the vintage-style black finish. It also has elegant yet simple details that really add to its overall straightforward aesthetic, including an unbound neck, and Ivoroid top and soundhole binding. Additionally, this WL-14 has been outfitted with a professionally installed LR Baggs M1 soundhole pickup with output jack installed below the end pin (see photos).

With a thicker, V-shaped Mahogany neck, slightly shorter 24 7/8" scale length, spacious 1 3/4" nut width, and 2 3/8" string spacing, you have a roomy player with a decidedly vintage feel from the moment you pick it up. Structural details include a bone cut-through saddle, Indian Rosewood fingerboard, and Golden Age Restoration tuners - all of which expertly complement the rest of the guitar. Includes original Hardshell case.
