This Analog Outfitters Sarge Amp Head is a Chicago made, hand-wired amp that's been built from re-purposed materials and is powered by a Hammond Organ output transformer - arguably one of the best transformers ever made. The casing is made from refurbished science equipment -  heavy duty aluminum boxes, so that alone shows how durable it is, and, just as awesome, it's incredibly lightweight and portable.What's especially nice about these is how the faceplates are all different vintage embossed tin signs - this particular one is "No Parking."

What it really comes down to though is the sound - and this is outstanding. It's powered by two EL84 power tubes, two 12AX7 preamps, and a 5Y3 rectifier, that together give it a gritty and authoritative tone that can produce classic clean tones as well as dirty overdrive. Ideal for rock, it's not hard to replicate the tones of guitarists like Page, Clapton, and Hendrix, among others with the Sarge. The Analog Outfitters Sarge Amp Head is a legitimately cool amp with a brilliant design that's also surprisingly versatile.
