This Chuck Lee Open Back Fretless 12" Banjo is a beautiful display of the impeccable craftsmanship the Ovilla, Texas, builder for which he has become known. While fretless banjos are a pretty rare sight, they're perfect for players looking to play glissando and those who want the tone of early banjos. This one has a 12" Maple rim that has been stained black and an outstanding Macassar Ebony fingerboard that is one of the smoothest playing surfaces we've seen on a banjo. The Cherry neck, Waverly tuners with Ivoroid buttons, and Cottonwood-style peghead round out its vintage-style appearance. The Chuck Lee Open Back Fretless 12" Banjo is a cool, modern take on an old school classic banjo, and one that you won't want to put down for a second. Full set up to your specs included.
