This Collings D2 SB, serial# 24730, is getting a lot of attention here at MSM - since it came in, it seems like every one of our employees have stopped in upstairs to check it out, and everyone loves it. It's absolutely flawless and sounds phenomenal - big and bold, with chiming highs, nice mids, and percussive lows. It has a select Sitka Spruce top and a warm Sunburst finish, East Indian Rosewood back and sides, and features Adirondack pre-war scalloped bracing. We also left out the tongue brace to give it a subtly more open sound.

It has the standard 25 1/2" scale length, but we ordered it with a slightly wider 1 3/4" nut width. The neck is Mahogany and has the Modified V profile, and the fingerboard is Ebony with a 14" - 26" compound radius - all of which together make it an incredibly comfortable player. It's finished off with a bone drop-in saddle and an Ebony belly-style bridge.

It's also loaded with many high-end, vintage-inspired appointments: tortoise-style pickguard; cross-cut grained Ivoroid and wood nitrate strip rosette; Herringbone trim and matching 2-style backstrip; Ebony bridge and end pins; and mother-of-pearl diamond inlays. About as good of a guitar as you can get, this Collings D2 SB is one of the nicest we've seen. Includes hardshell case and full setup to your specs from our luthiers.
