The Collings Tenor 1G Guitar, serial# 23547, is a beautiful addition to the Collings family with a lively sound and beautiful clarity. This guitar is just pure pleasure to play. Featuring a significantly smaller body than a traditional acoustic, the Tenor has a real presence that has been a part of Celtic, country and traditional music for decades. Here with Mahogany back and sides, it has a pristine German Spruce top for a distinct tone that has the punch of Adirondack and the clarity of Sitka - a pretty awesome combination, especially for a tenor guitar. Its Mahogany neck has the comfortable V shape, and the Ebony fingerboard is remarkably playable with a 1 9/32" nutwidth. It has a 23" scale and 1 11/32" string spacing and is tuned to C G D A, same as tenor banjos. It's easy enough to switch it up to standard guitar treble side with DGBE as well.

Every inch of this is just perfect. Seriously. The drop-in saddle is made from bone, and the belly-style bridge is Ebony. The appointments on this unique guitar are just stunning - white wood nitrate rosette, tortoise-style binding front and back, as well as a tortoise-style pickguard, Waverly tuners, plus black and white wood purfling and a 1-style Walnut backstrip. That's a lot of great features on a small guitar! All in all, the Collings Tenor 1G Guitar is the best-playing and -sounding tenor we've had the fortune to play. Includes the original hardshell case and setup from our luthiers too.
