Red Plate Amps - USED BlackVerb 1x12" Combo
This used Red Plate BlackVerb 1x12 Combo Amp is an incredibly versatile and powerful tube amp - one that can be used for practically everything, be it rock, blues, jazz, metal or anything in between. Featuring a single 12" Retro 30 speaker, it has plenty of volume and countless tonal characteristics that can be altered via its numerous controls on the both the front and back panels.
On the front panel, it has a Bright switch for a chimier tone in the down position, as if you just put on a new strings, and a normal bright response in the up position. The Volume knob can be pulled out for a Tweed-like mid boost. Treble acts normally, but the Middle control is also a pull-knob that scoops some mids and emphasizes the bass response. The six-position mode selector goes through five steps offering progressively thicker mids and can be coupled with the Tweed booster.
The overdrive is affected by the Gain, Drive, and Level controls. When Gain is set to zero, it's bypassed entirely. Low settings are smooth, but the higher you go the more aggressive it gets. The Drive control sets the amount of distortion, from a moderate amount of grit to full-on wailing banshee - and up the ante by using the pull-knob for even more density. The Level control sets the volume output when in overdrive mode. The BlackVerb also has built-in Reverb controlled from the front panel, as well as a Presence control. FInally, the Master Volume knob, which can actually be used to add even more gain in its highest settings.
The rear panel provides even more options for your tonal smorgasbord, including the 50/40 watts selector, a Hi/Lo Power selector that changes the voltage for quicker breakup, and a 2-, 4-, 8-, and 16-ohm selector. It has external speaker jacks, a Line Out jack, as well as Send and Return jacks. The included footswitch connects through the back panel, also. And, finally, a Smooth switch for added compression, and a Humbucker/Single-Coil selector switch that allows you to complement the amp's output with the guitar you're playing.
