Jim Baggett

Jim Baggett working at his luthiery bench
Owner and founder Jim Baggett is a pre-war Martin aficionado, experienced luthier and instrument appraiser. He can often be found at his repair bench restoring a unique guitar, or fixing something around the store - he actually built the second addition which houses our electric room today. You might also see him from time to time on the great PBS series, "Antiques Roadshow", appraising instruments from guitars to violins. Jim served as a consultant to Martin when they sought to refine the design of their D-18 and D-28 Authentic 1937 guitars, and he has collaborated with other builders on designs requiring extensive vintage knowledge. He also plays a pretty mean mandolin, if you catch him at the right time. Check out some of Jim's appraisals on Antiques Roadshow. Email:
