The Jayne from Bruce Guitars is one of the more unique boutique/vintage inspired guitars we see here in the shop and has quickly become one of our favorites. From the workshop of luthier Micah Bruce, this electric guitar is constructed more like a flattop acoustic, with a solid Sitka Spruce X-braced top along with an Alder back, making for a responsive stable build. This is an extremely resonate guitar that brings a boutique feel to the classic catalogue models of the '50s and '60s.
While being an incredibly interesting guitar from a construction standpoint, the sound it delivers, when combined with the dual Gemini dynasonic pickups, is outstanding. Bell-like, mid-forward, and with a good touch of springiness and air from the hollowbody and solid Sitka top and bracing, a sound that truly can go far and wide to a whole host of genres. The neck carve on this guitar is a highlight, being an incredibly comfortable vintage '50s C-shape profile, with a rolled fingerboard edge that instantly feels like home.
Hailing from the workshop of Micah Bruce in Omaha, Nebraska, we're excited to continue presenting his unique builds in the shop. Having spent time in the world of boutique building at Collings, John Allison and Moniker guitars, along with years of repair experience, Micah really has delivered some great sounding instruments.
