This Chuck Lee Dobson Banjo Open Back 11" is another example of the amazing craftsmanship and attention to detail from the long-time builder from Ovilla, Texas. Here with an 11 inch Cherry rim, it is surprisingly bright and loud, especially for an open back banjo. The Dobson tone ring adds a complexity that enhances both the tone and sustain. An Ebony fingerboard with offset Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays offer a classic look, and the Cherry neck with Chuck's distinct Man in the Moon peghead inlay provide a modern vibe.
It has a full 25 7/16" scale with 17 frets, and 1 9/32" vintage-scalloped bone nut for comfortable playing. This banjo is incredibly bright and clear, and regardless of how you play it - be it clawhammer, fingerstyle, or Scruggs - it's going to sound great. The Chuck Lee Dobson Banjo Open Back 11" is an awesome instrument with plenty of character and style while still being immensely versatile.
