The Salvage Series from Circle Strings brings old-growth, premium tone-woods to a boutique guitar with classic, understated appointments. From the shop of acclaimed luthier Adam Buchwald, co-founder of IRIS Guitars and owner of Allied Lutherie, this is a guitar from someone with serious boutique guitar cred.
Featuring a Sinker Spruce top, which was recovered from the cold, remote waters of Tenakee Springs, Alaska, this top is responsive and articulate, with a warm low-end and expressive upper-end harmonics. Those frigid northern water preserved the wood for decades before it was eventually recovered and book-matched into an incredible guitar top. A deep, resonant and powerful sounding dreadnought, with a quick string response that makes it a joy to play. The low-end has a wonderful bloom to the note, with a quick decay, that helps the high-end project as the lower notes fade.
Delightful upgrades include a set of older Mahogany back and sides, herringbone rosette and a custom-made Tortoise pickguard.
We are always on the lookout for boutique builders with a history of repair and restoration, and Adam's lifetime of luthierie certainly fits that bill. Like all new guitars here at the shop, this Circle Strings dreadnought includes a free Mass Street setup to your specs. Includes a TKL hardshell case.
