This 2006 D1AV is an absolute Collings canon. Featuring the difficult to find Varnish finish from the Texas-based builder, this dreadnought has the umph to take on any jam circle or gig. Featuring an upgraded Adirondack spruce top, custom ordered Vintage neck profile, vintage-inspired no tongue brace build, and the varnish finish that was a high-end Collings upgrade at the time and is no longer available. There is pickwear on the top, most notably on the treble side of the upper bout. There is also minor impressions in the Varnish, finish delimitation along the fingerboard, thumb playwear to the neck, and some wall hanger damage to the headstock (see photos).

There's a clarity, articulation and power that comes from a played-in Adirondack top and varnish finish build with years under its belt, and this is a great example of a Collings that has gotten better with age. Here in very good condition, this D1 includes the original hardshell case.
