This used Collings Guitars - 1996 D1 A is a great example of the sort of mid-90s construction and build quality that really put Collings Guitars on the map. Featuring an upgraded Adirondack spruce top, one of the early guitars to sport that tone wood from Collings, this expressive Mahogany dread is wide open and has that resonance that comes from a played in guitar. There is a moderate amount of fretwear, and some playwear and dings and dents throughout, but nothing that affects the playability (see photos). Includes the original hardshell case.
  • 14-fret Dreadnought with high-gloss nitrocellulose lacquer finish and Tortoise-style binding
  • Adirondack Spruce top with Tortoise-style celluloid pickguard and black/white wood nitrate strip rosette
  • Mahogany back and sides with black/white wood purfling and 1-style Walnut backstrip
  • 25 1/2" scale length
  • Mahogany neck
  • Ebony fingerboard 20 Medium frets, and Mother-of-Pearl dot inlays
  • 1 11/16" nut width, bone
  • Bone Drop-in saddle with 2 3/8" string spacing
  • Ebony belly-style bridge
  • Nickel Waverly tuners
  • Hardshell case included
  • Serial# 2480
