This used Collings Guitars - 2005 OM1A Varnish is a great example of a mid-2000s Collings model. Featuring an Adirondack spruce top, paired with a Mahogany back and sides, this Orchestra model has been upgraded with a Varnish finish for that vintage look right out of the case. The Adirondack top is responsive, and has really opened up, creating a nice even response across the fingerboard. The Varnish finish has begun to sink into the grain of the wood, and there is some light playwear throughout. There is a ding/scrape on the back lower bout, along with some finish dents near the end pin. There is some finish checking on the treble side along where the fingerboard and neck meet, which is not atypical of varnish (see photos). Nothing out of the ordinary for a well loved varnished guitar. Includes the original hardshell case.
