We've been counting down the days for our very first 12-fret Hill Country Dreadnought  to arrive and wow was it worth the wait. Featuring a 12-fret body, this new addition to the Hill Country line delivers a comfortable, big sounding guitar, with a vintage appeal that flatpickers are going to love.

We got to spend some time with a prototype build this past fall and this production DS1A HC is every bit as good as we remember that guitar being. Bold and articulate with a strong fundamental and few overtones make this such a responsive cannon that can handle everything from Norman Blake fiddle tunes to the most free-flowing jam grass, while feeling effortless to play.

The Hill Country line of guitars delivers a vintage-voiced build, with the same quality and attention to detail that has always been synonymous with Collings, in warmer, dry, and focused guitar. Here with an Adirondack spruce top, paired with Mahogany back and sides, this Dreadnought features hand-poured tortoise appointments, new bracing and top/back voicings, and a stamped Collings logo on the back of the headstock.

The control, and power that comes from this line of Collings guitars rivals any sort of vintage-inspired build out there and we're thrilled to have them here in the shop. Includes a free Mass Street setup from our crew of luthiers along with the original hardshell case.
