Eastman Mandolins - MDC-805 Mandocello
This special Eastman MDC805 Mandocello is an incredibly cool instrument and so much fun to play. The mandocello is to the mandolin what a cello is to a violin, and is generally tuned CC-GG-dd-aa and fans have included a diverse bunch, from Cheap Trick's Rick Neilson and Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, to Jaco Pastorius and Drive By Truckers' Patterson Hood. Produced in limited quantities, mandocellos don't make appearances often, and when they do we're super excited about them - especially ones like this Eastman.
Featuring a carved solid Spruce top with dual f-holes and highly flamed, solid carved Maple back and sides, this MDC805 has incredible depth and volume, and just an amazing tone overall. And just look at it - how cool is that? Eastman's nitrocellulose lacquer finish is, as always, outstanding and shows this wood off beautifully, while allowing the tone to really come through.
It has a 25" scale length, a 1 3/4" bone nut, and a 15" radiused Ebony fingerboard. The body is beautifully accented with full Ivoroid boxed binding too. The Eastman MDC805 Mandocello is a beauty and we're happy to have one in the store - so check it out before it's gone. Includes the original hardshell case too.
