This Fairbanks F-35 acoustic guitar is modeled after Gibson's wildly popular J-35 and uses similar 1930s-style vintage details. It's a dreadnought with massive tone and volume, and features Gibson's three-tonebar bracing layout from its 1936-39 J-35s, as well as hide-glue construction. Its top is Adirondack Spruce, which provides a powerful yet balanced tone, and is complemented by Mahogany back and sides that are accented with Ivoroid binding. The Mahogany neck uses a rounded-off V shape, also inspired by the '30s-era guitar, and the Madagascar Rosewood fingerboard plays great.
An immensely versatile guitar, the F-35 is fit for blues, folk, country - you name it. It has a shorter 24 3/4" scale that gives it a slightly tighter tone, incredibly natural and earthy in the lows. The 1 3/4" bone nut is an excellent fit for most players, and it has a nice, wide 2 3/8" string spacing. The saddle is made from bone, and the rectangular bridge is Madagascar Rosewood. A firestripe pickguard and three-ring rosette round off its impeccable construction and appointments. The Fairbanks F-35 guitar is an amazing and faithful recreation of the indelible J-35, one that should definitely be played, especially if you're interested in an original Gibson with modern construction. Includes setup from our in-house luthiers and hardshell case.
