Local Lawrence, Kansas pickup only. This used 1957 Fender Bandmaster Amp is in Very Good condition, and sounds better than ever thanks to amp guru Jeff Gehring's restoration and repairs. The cleans on this amp are perfect for rock and roll, blues, and country, and its natural overdrive can really wail.
Gehring's work done, in addition to the tweed replaced, is as follows: It has its original power transformer (a Triad 8087) and original choke. The output transformer is not original, replaced with a Schumacher (part no. 017450). An aluminum bracket was fabricated for it, and an adjustable bias pot using existing holes (from a removed selenium rectifier) was added to the chassis. The selenium rectifier was replaced with a silicon rectifier (type 1N4007UF). The AC cord was replaced with a 3-conductor grounded cord, and Jupiter coupling caps were installed in the non-original caps' place. The front panel caps were tested and the leaky Astron 0.005uF was replaced. The 250pF domino cap tested okay. The non-original metal oxide resistors were replaced with carbon composite type, and the bias filter cap has also been switched out. The power tubes were replaced with 5881s, while the preamp tubes were also installed.
This 1957 Fender Bandmaster Amp has had some work done, it's more playable than ever before and sounds true to form and frankly, better. All restoration and replacements were made by Jeff Gehring solely to further prolong the lifespan and improve the sound of this already amazing amplifier. Serial# S01674.
