This sweet Fender American Special Jazzmaster is a straightforward take on the classic electric guitar that has been a favorite of musicians from the Ventures to Sonic Youth to Stephen Malkmus, Stephen Drozd of the Flaming Lips and more. Its rocking tone, delivered through two Jazzmaster Special Humbuckers, is controlled by a simple three-way toggle switch and single Master Volume and Master Tone knobs. The Adjusto-Matic bridge and anchored tailpiece do a great job keeping this in tune long after you're done playing—but why would you want to stop? Also featured are a Maple neck with Modern C shape and satin finish, Rosewood fingerboard, and a four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard that really looks great against the all-black, traditionally off set Alder body. This Fender American Special Jazzmaster is an excellent choice for musicians playing a lot of different styles. It's versatile enough to play blues, metal, rock, surf and, oh yeah, jazz, thus the offset body style - it was originally designed for musicians who preferred to play sitting down. A gig bag and full set up by our luthiers is included.
