This vintage 1951 Tweed Pro is a wonderful example of this quintessential Fender tweed amp tone. This is the sound for which countless emulators and boutique recreations strive to achieve. Built in 1951, it hosts the iconic "TV" face and original cabinet, this one has re-"tweeded" professionally by Will Dyke from Armadillo Amps in Texas.

The sound is one of exquisite responsiveness and snap that breaks up in that wonderful tweed way when pushed. Players are rewarded when experimenting with their guitar volume knob at different levels relative to the amp's. Go for bell-like cleans at low volumes to that glassy, wooly distortion when cranked.

Original transformers and the original 15-inch Jensen P15N speaker are present and deliver that iconic tweed sound. The famous warm edge is thanks to the 6L6CCs in the power tube section and a 5U4GB rectifier tube gives it that iconic sag when pushed. The three 6SC7 tubes in the preamp section give this amp plenty of gain and drive, rounding out how it gets that gritty tone. Recently professionally serviced, all electrolytic caps have been replaced with F&T caps installed in the jackets of the original caps. All the failed coupling caps have been replaced with red jacketed Jupiter Astron replica capacitors. Call for more information about this amp.
