Fender - 1972 Stratocaster
This used 1972 Fender Stratocaster has certainly been gigged over the years, and it shows, but it also sounds absolutely incredible. Made from Ash, its body has a nice heft to it (8 lb., 2 oz.), and shows some wear, nicks and expected finish checking. The neck and fretboard here are super comfortable. The frets are low but quite playable - vintage fans will will love it, while devotees of modern, beefier frets would do well to consider a refret.
The neck and mid pickups are both original, while the bridge pickup and pots are replacements, as is the screw on the top strap button. Our luthiers went over this guitar stem to stern when we got it, to verify the originality of the guitar and pickups. In doing so, we noticed the neck pickup leads had been shortened, so we professionally re-soldered them, beautifully rewired this beast and checked out the pots. It now sounds even better and will for a long time to come.
Classic strat specs are here - a 25 1/2" scale, a 1 5/8" nut, vintage-style bridge, and Fender tuners (all original). Even after four decades of playing, this is in Very Good condition. This 1972 Fender Stratocaster is an awesome guitar and a great addition to a collection. Includes non-original hardshell case. Serial #357674.
