Gehring Amps - Darkstar 1x12" Combo

This Gehring Darkstar 1x12 Combo is a British-flavored 30 watt 1x12 combo, featuring a reverb section similar to those used in vintage Ampeg Reberberockets. Expertly crafted by Kansas amp madman, Jeff Gehring, it has a solid poplar cabinet, covered in black Taurus Tolex, accentuated by a red snakeskin-patterned Tolex detail panel. The valence panel is stained-black Quilted Maple with a shot of vintage cherry lacquer, to echo the snakeskin panel. It's seriously one of the coolest amps we've seen, not to mention how killer it sounds.

Using a Celestion G12M-65 Creamback, it can dish out 30 watts of power with an adjustable 4/8 ohm switch. An all-tube design, it has two EL34 (NOS Siemens) power tubes; two 12AX7 and two 12AU7 preamp tubes; and one 5AR4/GZ34 (NOS JAN Philips) rectifier for a full range of classic-sounding tones. The design doesn't use negative feedback on the output stage, either, so transitioning from clean tone to breakup is more gradual and controllable from the guitar volume and pick attack. An incredibly versatile amp, the Gehring Darkstar 1x12 Combo is a truly amazing amp, perfect for the studio, practice space, or onstage. A J and L cover is included, too.
