This Gibson Acoustic Guitars - 1952 SJ Sunburst is the cleanest and nicest SJ we have ever had. Other than gluing a couple loose braces, typical for that era, and replacing the typical rotted plastic tuner buttons, new strings were about it. It didn't even need cleaning and polishing. The neck set is perfect with a very good height to the original saddle. There is no fret wear. My guess is that the typical crumbled tuner buttons caused the guitar to be set aside. The guitar came with a soft shell paper case, which we will be glad to include, but we had an original '52 Gibson hard case in mint condition, the brown one with pink lining. Considering the special nature of this guitar, we elected to house it in this equally stunning hard case. It makes for a spectacular package. The guitar plays and sounds as good as it looks. It is very open and clear with a dynamic range that lets you explore a great range of tone effortlessly. If it isn't abundantly clear, we like this guitar. This guitar defies its 60 plus years.
