This vintage ES-175D is a two-humbucker-equipped jazz box with serious depth and rich tones. Laminate maple construction controls feedback and has made for a build that's withstood over the years. Strung with flatswounds, it's got some good snap acoustically, but with the tone rolled off when plugged in delivers that singingly smooth jazz voice.

During the Norlin-era accurate record keeping at Gibson often was eschewed, resulting in a mess when dating guitars of this period. As such, we've dated this guitar earliest to 1970, with the latest date being 1975. The pot codes most likely tell the true story, but our shop has decided to leave the shielding can coverings soldered in place so as to preserve the original condition of the instrument

In Very Good condition, it's had some wear to the heel as well as a previously installed strap button on the cutaway side removed, some wear on the front of the headstock & rubber on the pickup selector switch, and some marks to the top. Some replaced parts, namely the tuners to Schallers and the knobs to Speed knobs. Setup here at our shop, this hollowbody continues to serve up warm jazz tones and a huge archtop sound. Comes with the original hardshell case.
