This Gibson 1956 Les Paul Special, here in the classic TV Yellow finish, is an iconic piece of electric guitar history. From only the second year of Les Paul Special production, this slab mahogany, single-cut features a pair of original soapbar P-90 pickups. Over time the pickup selector on this guitar loosened up and wore away the surrounding mahogany. This has been repaired with a small patch and now feels solid. There is also a hole in the lid of the case where the pickup selector had worn through the case lid. (See photos) C-Shape Neck. Original tuners, frets and electronics. The finish checking on this guitar is lovely throughout. Some nicks and dings of course, but nothing that inhibits the playability or functionality of the guitar.
