Dating back to the first year of production, this 1954 Les Paul Junior is a vintage Gibson time capsule. Featuring an all mahogany body, and one piece mahogany neck, the LP Jr was a no frills Rock 'N Roll machine. The streamlined combination of a solid, slab body and P-90 pickup absolutely delivers and has made this relatively simple model a vintage classic.
The original finish, bridge, bridge bushings and electronics are all preseent, including the original jack which is included in the case, with a replacement having been installed on the guitar. As is often the case the original tuner buttons have deteriorated over time and have been replaced with new buttons, the original Kluson no-line tuners remain.
The serial number is obscured due to the original dark nitro finish on the back of the headstock, however we can confirm the guitar is a '54 due to the appointments, lower neck angle and electronics. One of the biggest indications is the mother of pearl dot inlays, a feature only found on the early Juniors and was later phased out.
Include an era-appropriate replacement chipboard case. If purchasing online, the buyer is required to purchase a modern hardshell case.
