This used Gibson 1976 Les Paul Standard is a gorgeous example of why the Les Paul is arguably the most iconic guitar ever made. This one is in Very Good condition, with some slight cosmetic wear - but what doesn't at nearly 40 years old? Made with grade-AAA Maple, its deep burgundy finish is offset by the cream pickguard and golden controls, and it has a sustain inducing heft at 10 lb, 15 oz. It has a Maple neck, and the Rosewood fingerboard has been completely refretted, so it plays as smooth as ever. A few of the inlays are nicked, most noticeably at the 5th and 21st frets (see photos). The original tuners have been replaced with chrome Grovers, and the original pickups were replaced with dual Seymour Duncan '59 humbuckers, giving it a warm, vintage clean tone while still capable of delivering some raucous, yet bright, distortion. There are surface scratches and scuffs - nothing significant and nothing that affects the great sound of this beast. A versatile and uncompromisingly awesome guitar, this Gibson 1976 Les Paul Standard is called the Standard for a reason - it's just that good. The original hard shell case is included.
