This 2022 Gibson Custom Shop '61 SG is a throw back to the first year of this now classic build. Originally introduced as an heir to the Les Paul model, what became the SG started off under the Les Paul line, complete with Les Paul truss rod cover, which is included here.
Featuring mahogany construction, a '60's slim taper neck, and bound rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, this guitar is perfect for rhythm and lead playing. Its double Alnico III un-potted Gibson "Custombucker" PAF-style pickups are a wonderful, vintage inspired combination of touch sensitivity and tone.
Here in Very Good condition, there is what we believe to be an imperfection to the finish that originated at the factory. While the finish was still curing it appears that very small metal particles have embedded in the top coat, possibly during the PLEK fret dress process as metal shaving were flying around. This is purely a cosmetic issue and the back finish is perfectly stable (see photos).
