This used, vintage Gibson J-50 guitar may be 50 years old but it plays, sounds, and parties like it's half its age. A little worn and carrying a few expertly repaired cracks, it's still in Very Good condition and is a great player - none of the wear or body blemishes affect its playability or tone. There are several expertly repaired cracks on the top and on the back, and they are all quite even and together. Made with a Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides, this J50 has a triple-bound cream/black/cream top binding and single cream binding to its back. The Mahogany neck has a Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard (the last year it was used) with mother-of-pearl dot inlays.
The slightly shorter 24 3/4" scale is great for players who do a lot of string bends and fingerstyle playing, although it's just as good a strummer as anything. The nutwidth is a comfortable 1 5/8", great for most players, and it has the original adjustable ceramic saddle. An all-in-all great guitar, it may not be the prettiest one at the dance, but it sounds and plays beautifully, with a big, warm tone. You've even got a McIntyre Feather pickup installed. This Gibson J-50 has seen more than a few gigs, but it has a lot of life left. Includes hardshell case too.
