The updated Gretsch G5422 Electromatic Hollowbody is now even more of a sonic beast with the new Black Top Filtertron pickups, based in part on the old Baldwin era Filtertrons. These have a new backbone that imparts a real voice to this Electromatic—powerful, warm and with tangible twang.
Everything about this instrument is slick—even acoustically, the 5-ply Maple body with sound-post bracing resonates just beautifully. This has a Snow Crest White finish and gold hardware including the adjust-omatic bridge and Bigsby licensed vibrato tailpiece. The body, neck and f-holes are all beautifully bound, and the Rosewood fretboard features humpback pearloid inlays. You've got 3-way switching, a volume for each pickup, plus Master Volume and Master Tone. The neck on this Gretsch G5422 Electromatic Hollowbody is killer, too, with a 1.6875" nutwidth and 22 medium jumbo frets.
