This early example of a J. Romero banjo dates back to 2002 and is an excellent example of the craftsmanship that came to define his instruments. Gorgeously constructed with Jatoba for the neck & rim, often referred to as Brazilian Cherry, and capped with maple, this open-back banjo sings with a vintage warmth and with plenty of rustic charm. The wooden tone ring abates any harsh high end and plays in perfectly to an old-time style. A single spike is present at the 7th fret on the fifth string for easily switching to different keys.

In its 20+ years, it's had some tarnish to the rim and a small blemish on the head, along with a nominal amount of wear to the frets keeping this build in Very Good condition, ready for the next jam. Planetary tuners, Romero's custom-designed bridge, and a coordinator rod for easy adjustments, this banjo has lived a good life and is ready for plenty more. Comes with a TKL hardshell case.
