From just up the road from us in McLouth, KS, this Leo Posch 00 is a sweet-sounding instrument featuring boutique construction. A Red Spruce top, paired with East Indian Rosewood, both give amazing clarity and a robustness to the sound. Taking notes from traditional models like the Nick Lucas signature, the 13-fret construction places the bridge in a unique spot on the soundboard, allowing for string-energy transfer that projects with a sweetness that fingerstyle seems to love. Taking a flatpick to it, it has a darker tone than one would expect from a small-body, but with a richness in the mids that sounds delightful.
Visually, the guitar sports a rope purfling and maple binding combo for an elegant aesthetic, especially when paired with the abalone rosette. A benefit of the slotted headstock is the increased breakover angle at the nut, which helps to emphasizes the responsiveness of the guitar making it a joy to play.
Posch prioritizes not just the sonic and visual qualities of the build, but also longevity with the guitar's construction. Hosting details such as stainless steel frets to maximize the life of the frets and a bolt-on mortise and tenon neck for ease of repair if needed many years down the line. With a single-builder like this, you get a guitar that's had every single aspect selected with hours poured into its inclusion. Comes with a Reunion Blues Expedition hybrid case and a free setup from our luthiers.
