This Martin - 1938 000-18 - SN 70285 is a classic wide neck, scalloped brace pre-war 000. Crack free top, with a newer slightly oversized bridge, very minor tight back crack, recent neck set, and original tuners. The finish has an old overspray with considerable weather checking. The inside of the guitar is clean and original other than two tiny holes in the original bridge plate that would indicate that an earlier bridge had been bolted on. This is not uncommon and not a problem to the integrity of the guitar. Sound is subjective, but we have seen and played many pre-war 000-18's here at Mass Street and I am not alone in giving this guitar two thumbs up. The playability is excellent with medium wear to the original frets. Includes newer hard case.
