This 1956 Martin D-28 is one of the cleanest, best sounding Martin's from the later half of the '50s that we've seen here in the shop. The spruce top has aged beautifully, taking on that vintage, dark amber color that visually compliments the Brazilian rosewood back and sides so well. A powerful, responsive guitar, with a deep Martin rosewood sound, and a projection and clarity not often found in late '50s D-28s. You can feel the rosewood vibrate while playing strumming chords or flatpicking a fiddle tune.

A crack has formed between the bridge pins, which is currently stable and runs from the D to B strings (see photos). Here with moderate fretwear, there is also finish checking on the back of the headstock between the turners. Original bridge plate, original waffle-back tuners. Includes a modern Martin hardshell dreadnought case.

Payment via Wire Transfer preferred.
