The Ample from Loki and the team at Poly Effects is a beast of a unit, offering an intuitive box full of amazing amp captures. Hosting a whopping 56 amp captures, this pedal seeks to replace your rig entirely or compliment it. With 7 categories including 8 captures each, players can find and tweak their dream rig with ease, thanks to the signature touch & slider controls that feel fantastic. Try out newer boutique builds from Dr. Z, Suhr, & Milkman, to vintage Fender amps like a '64 Dual Showman & '65 Musicman, to high gain rockers like the Peavey 5150 or Marshall JCM800, just to name a few. This pedal even caters handily to the oft-forgotten legendary bass tones with amps like the classic Bassman and Ampeg SVT to sleepers like the Sunn Beta and Orange AD200. Want to use your own cabinet instead of the default matched cabinet? Triple tap the 'Destroy' icon to bypass the built-in cab sim.
Familiar controls such as Gain, Volume, Bass & Treble are controlled via the signature touch slider tech, with 4096 values each to get your tone as precise as possible. Tap on the currently selected preset number again to access the secondary slider functions, indicated by a color change in the LEDs. From left to right they become Luminance for the LED brightness, Boost volume level, Mids, and a custom captured Room Space for an onboard room reverb control. Tap Footswitch A to enable the boost, or hold it down to go to the next category. Tap Footswitch B to toggle On/Off or hold to go to the next preset.
The Ample works for stereo rigs as well. Triple tap the 'Crunch' Icon for mono in/stereo out. With a triple tap of the Ample logo, it enables Channel splitting for dual amp rigs. Press the Ample logo once to switch between controls for each side, indicated by Orange & Pink LEDs for left & right respectively. Full Midi control is available as well.
Meticulously crafted and no attention to detail spared on the sounds, the Ample, despite its initial daunting library, is fantastically intuitive to utilize and a ton of fun to play around with, providing a litany of classic tones in a compact set up.
