This used Santa Cruz Tony Rice Custom Dreadnought is a fantastic full-sized, D-28-inspired player that really encapsulates Mr. Rice's stellar playing style. This has Cocobolo back and sides paired with a German Spruce top for an absolutely incredible overall tone - it's bright and loud with plenty of bass response and cutting mids. It has a comfortable V-shaped Mahogany neck and Ebony fingerboard, and 20 frets. The only position marker on the fretboard is the SCGC logo on the 12th fret, but it does have side dots for reference - a feature typical of Rice style dreads.

The scale length is 25 3/8", the nut width is 1 11/16", and the string spacing is 2 3/16". In addition to being a solid player, it's also loaded with plenty of appointments: tortoiseshell pickguard; Herringbone rosette and purfling; and a zipper-style backstrip. In Very Good condition overall, it does have some finish-checking to its top and some minor dings throughout, including some on its peghead (due to a string-winder), top and neck (see photos). Otherwise, though, it looks and sounds great. This 2002 Santa Cruz Tony Rice Custom Dreadnought includes a hardshell case.
