This 2008 RS 12-fret Dreadnought hails from the Santa Cruz workshop, and was inspired by the 1930s Roy Smeck models delivering punchy mids and plenty of volume. A Sitka top and Mahogany back & sides make up this dread delivering a tight response across the whole frequency spectrum without build up in the bass or trebly highs, resulting in a focused midrange that cuts right through with the increased volume.

With great attention to detail, this Roy Smeck pays homage to the '30s with forward-shifted tapered X-bracing that supports that direct sound. The custom width on the neck feels substantial in the hand at 1 27/32" allowing for wider string spacing and accuracy in playability. Arriving here in Very Good condition, there's various scratches along the backside and pickguard from playwear. Finish buckling at the bridge from minor top bellying over time is present, though the guitar is perfectly stable and plays fantastically well (see photos). Made with respect to the past, this RS 12-fret dread is ready for modern players to shine in any situation. Includes the original hardshell case.
