This used Swart Space Tone Atomic Jr. Amp, here in Excellent condition, may seem small, but this all tube 5 watt amp has a helluva lot of soul and allows you to achieve an amp 'on 11' tone at lower volumes. It's also only about 14 pounds and so easy to take anywhere - plus being used, you get significant savings. Why use a 5 watt amp? It allows you to attain a full on tone without blowing the walls out, whether you're at home or the studio recording, jamming and just about any other situation. Amazingly simple point to point, hand-wired, cathode-biased circuitry make it almost impossible not to find exactly the sound you're after, and cutting out extraneous functions only further simplifies it. On its back faceplate you've got a standard 1/4” input and power switch, as well as three knobs: Volume, Tone, and Space (its built-in reverb control). Speaking of which, even the reverb will leave you speechless, as rich and full as it is coming from an 8”, 4-ohm Weber Signature ceramic speaker.
This little amp is all-tube, featuring a 12AX7 and 12DW7 preamp/driver combo that feed into a 6V6GT power tube and GZ3 Recitifer, all of which limit the harshness usually associated with solid state rectification. The light tweed covering and dark side panels give it a distinct vintage look, but this Swart Space Tone Atomic Jr. Amp is nothing if not a modern classic. Only minor wear in its tweed covering and side panels – it's in beautiful, clean shape. Check this incredibly straightforward, yet surprisingly powerful and true amp - it delivers a whole lot in a small package.
